Early Life
Chase Shores was born on May 21, 2004, in Clayton, North Carolina, and he grew up in Midland, Texas, in a sports-loving family of West Texas roots. Bryan and Nicole Shores are his parents. His father, Bryan, works in oil field chemical sales and played college baseball at Frank Phillips Junior College and Eastern New Mexico University.
Nicole is a massage therapist and also played college basketball at Frank Phillips Junior College. He has one older brother, Nicolas. Chase played at Legacy High School, and his dominating size, raw power, and explosive arm strength made him one of the most promising young pitchers in the state.

Chase Shores came to LSU with a lot of expectations in 2023 and soon secured a place in the Tigers’ deep pitching staff. As a true freshman, he was impressive with his velocity, which was often in the high 90s, and his ERA was 1.96, and he struck out 15 in 18 1/3 innings.
He did not pitch in the postseason, but he played a significant role in the team’s season when it won the national championship. Shores was injured in March 2023 with a torn elbow, leading to Tommy John surgery, which will keep him out of the entire 2024 season.
Chase Shores was not to be deterred, nevertheless, and spent his injury time re-mastering his mechanics and honing his knowledge about pitch sequencing and game management.
