Gerry Glasco is an American collegiate softball coach who serves as the head coach of the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns softball team. With an impressive nine-season track record in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), Glasco has cemented his position as one of the top offense coaches and recruiters in the country.

Early life
Glasco was born in Macomb, Illinois in 1958. He attended Crab Orchard High School and learned baseball and basketball. He attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics.
Gerry Glasco career
Glasco was an assistant coach on the varsity softball team at Johnston City High School in Johnston City, Illinois from 2000-2004 and again from 2007-2008. In 2008 he also served as head coach of the junior varsity team. While there, Glasco founded the Illinois Southern Force 18U ASA team, which he led from 2002 to 2008.
In four separate appearances at the ASA Gold Nationals, his team placed in the top 20 and clinched the 2004 title. Glasco and his coaching staff were recognized this year by the NFCA as National Coaches of the Year for Travel Softball Teams.
Glasco began his collegiate softball career as an assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator at Georgia from 2009 to 2011. During his time with Georgia, he led his team to an overall record of 282-92 and led the NCAA and SEC rankings in nearly every offensive category by lineup more than 20 team records.
Glasco was named assistant head coach in 2012, where he remained until 2014. Glasco has been the head coach at National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) three times, first for USSSA Pride in 2014, then for the Scrap Yard Dawgs in 2017, and again for USSSA Pride in 2019. The NPF Cowles Cup has been won by each of the three teams.
Rise to Fame
Glasco joined Texas A&M in 2014 as an assistant head coach. The Aggies led the SEC in home runs during regular-season conference play in 2016 and 2017. The Aggies had their best-ever SEC conference performance in 2017, finishing 16-7 and advancing to the Women’s College World Series.
On November 20, 2017, after former head coach Michael Lotief was fired for abusive conduct, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette hired Glasco as the head coach of the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns softball team. Glasco was an assistant head coach at Auburn when he was hired.
In the 2021 season, Gerry Glasco once again demonstrated his coaching skills as he led the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns softball team to notable success. The team reached an impressive milestone of 40 wins in the regular season and an outstanding record of 25 wins in their last 29 games. Under Glasco’s leadership, the team clinched back-to-back regular-season and tournament Sun Belt championships.
The 2022 season marked the arrival of Glasco’s highly acclaimed 2021 recruiting class, recognized as the top-ranked class by Extra Inning Softball. Notable among the class was standout pitcher Sam Landry, who placed fourth overall, and Louisiana native Maddie Hayden, who was fifteenth overall in prospects. Despite the presence of a young squad consisting of no more than two high school seniors and up to five freshmen, Glasco effectively guided and mentored the team, shaping it into a competitive force.
