Katyrah, along with three of her closest friends, traveled to New York City on September 22, 2018 to audition for the Apollo Theater. After a long wait, she received an email informing her that she had been chosen from hundreds of applicants to represent her city and enter the Apollo competition. She has won amateur night at the Apollo Theater in New York at least three times and was one of ten artists to reach the Super Top Dog finals in 2019.

In 2020, she landed her first national television audition on NBC’s The Voice. She received a red ticket indicating that she had been selected for the second round of the audition, however she failed the second round.

She has worked as a peer support moderator for the Baltimore Mayor’s Office-funded youth homelessness project, Springboard Community Services.
