Kimi Raikkonen, known by his nickname “The Iceman”, is a Finnish racing driver who currently drives in Formula 1 for Alfa Romeo Racing under the Finnish flag. He won the Formula 1 World Championship in 2007.
Early life
Kimi-Matias Raikkonen was born on October 17, 1979, in Espoo, Finland to father Matti Raikkonen and mother Paula Raikkonen. He also has a brother named Rami who is unmarried and has two sons. Her father died unexpectedly in December 201 at the age of 56 and his mother still suffers from dyslexia, of which Kimi shares some traits. Kimi was a fan of driving and karting from a young age and by the age of 10 he has a long-standing success in karting. His first race outside of Finland was in just 15 years. His hobbies also include snowboarding and ice hockey. Raikkonen hated school like any other student growing up, but when he was 16 he left school and enrolled in a course for mechanics because he wanted to be involved in motorsport.

Kimi has had long-standing success in karting since she was 10 years old and has even made it to competitions outside of Finland. He soon dropped out of school and at the age of 20 won the 1999 British Formula Renault winter series. Based on his experience and victory, Father Sauber gave him a chance with the Sauber Formula 1 team in September 2000. Impressed by his fast pace In 2001, Sauber signed the 21-year-old to drive for them.
Kimi soon caught the eye of McLaren and in 2002 he earned a seat on Ron Dennis’ team. He was with McLaren for five years and yet finished second in the championship twice in 2003 and 2005 as Formula 1 World Championship driver for Scuderia Ferrari. The next year he broke the record for most fastest laps in a season for the second time.
Raikkonen left both Scuderia Ferrari and the sport in the 2009 season, returning for Lotus in 2012. In September 2013, Ferrari re-signed Kimi on a two-year deal that began in the 2014 season and was subsequently extended through the 2018 season. During that time, he finished in the top four in the championship standings multiple times during his second Ferrari stint, and ended his eight-year Ferrari career with a third-place finish in the 2018 championship drive in 2021.

On July 31, 2004, Raikkonen married Finnish model and former Miss Scandinavia 2001 Jenni Dahlman, whom he met in 2002. The couple lived between Switzerland and Finland, later they were separated in February 2013 and divorced in 2014. After the divorce, Kimi later became engaged to fitness and lingerie model Minna-Mari Minttu Virtanen. Together they have two children, a son born on January 28, 2015, and a daughter born on May 16, 2017.
