Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984 in Manhattan, the urban heart of the New York metropolitan area. She was born to her father, Karsten Olaf Johansson, who was an architect, and her mother, Melanie Sloan, who worked as a producer.
Scarlett’s father was of Danish descent and her mother, who was his father’s second wife, was of Jewish descent. However, they both divorced when Scarlett was 14 years old. Scarlett grew up with her three siblings – sister Vanessa, brother Adrian; and a twin brother, Hunter.
