Wes Moore is an American personality and a basketball coach by profession. He is currently holding the head coach designation at NC State, teaching the women’s basketball team. Wes Moore’s complete name is Frank Weston Moore.

Wes Moore [22nd April 1957 (age 67)] was born in Texas City, Texas. He was raised in Dallas with his family. His family included a single mother and two sisters. Wes received his college degree from Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He had his graduate degree in religious studies in 1984 and during his college days, he played at point guard. Wes Moore later enrolled at the University of Tennessee. There, he received a degree in physical education in 1986 and later had a master’s degree in the same subject from the same university in 1987.

He had his first job as a men’s basketball coach at Johnson Bible in 1984. Wes Moore worked there until 1987. He then became head coach at Maryville College, teaching women’s basketball. Before hiring Wes Moore as a head coach, the women’s basketball team was highly struggling with tournaments and appearances in matches.
After he was hired, the team had at least five NCAA Division III Tournament appearances and 130 wins in six seasons. Eventually, he was honored with the title of three regional “Coach of the Year” by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. He was then hired as an assistant coach at NC State under Key Yow.
There at NC State, he stretched his job responsibilities from 1993 to 1995. After that [from 1995 to 1998], he worked as a head coach at Francis Marion. In his presence, Francis Marion reached the NCAA Division II Final Four in 1998. From 1998 to 2013, he became the head coach at Chattanooga Lady Mocs.
There, He spent his first coaching career (head) with an appearance in NCAA Division I. During that time, he led the Mocs to appear for 12 Southern Conference (SoCon) regular season championships and nine NCAA Division I Tournaments. In his presence, Chattanooga had over 350 wins and Wes Moore received nearly five Coach of the Year honors from the SoCon.
He again joined NC State in 2013 as a head coach. In his first seven seasons, he led the women’s basketball team to appear in four NCAA Tournament championships. The team also appeared in the 2020, 2021 and 2022 ACC Tournaments. He earned the honor of Atlantic Coast Conference’s Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2022.
