Early life
Albert was born on October 21, 1961, in Thessaloniki, Greece and his parents were Jewish. Not much is known about his parents but it is known that he has no siblings. Ever since childhood, Albert had wanted to be a doctor, so after completing his high school diploma in 1979, he enrolled at Aristotle University in a local school in Thessaloniki, graduating with a Ph.D. away. in Biotechnology and Reproduction. Motivated by his early love for animals, he practiced as a veterinarian in Greece for a number of years. In addition, he was also interested in understanding the ability of technology to push the boundaries of science and medicine and pursued his career accordingly.

In the early stages of his career, Albert practiced as a veterinarian in Greece. Later in 1993, he joined Pfizer’s Animal Health Division in Greece as Technical Director. In 2001 he was given responsibilities as Marketing Director for the US group in New York, given his significant work in improving animal health across Europe. After a few years, he was appointed vice president of business development and new product marketing. In 2006 he became Area President of Animal Health Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
His enduring skills led him to General Manager for Pfizer’s established products business in 2010, where he oversaw the execution of strategies and tactics related to Pfizer’s patent-free portfolio. He played an important role as group president of Pfizer’s global vaccines, oncology, and consumer health businesses, leading them to greater heights. He later became Chief Operating Officer, where he oversaw the company’s business strategy, manufacturing, and global product development. In January 2019, he was appointed CEO of Pfizer.
