Anthony Eyanson was born on 9th October 2004, in Long Beach, California. Grew up in California, in a big athletic family of six siblings. Jeff and Kristen Eyanson are his parents. His father, Jeff, works as a professor, while his mother, Kristen, is employed at a chiropractic office. Their family includes three sons—Blake, Joseph, and Andrew—and two daughters, Alexandria and Madyson.

He was involved in various sports since he was young and fell passionately in love with baseball through local baseball leagues and playing backyard baseball. He went to Lakewood High School, where he became a two-way star athlete.

As a senior, he fanned 110 batters in 85 innings with an incredible 0.50 ERA and hit .472, which earned him a spot as one of the best prep players in Southern California. Anthony Eyanson was also the Press-Telegram Player of the Year and First Team All-League, showing himself as both a pitcher and a position player.

Anthony Eyanson even played on the football team as the quarterback and kicker, the same versatility and athleticism he would later bring to the mound. He would also play with the Southern California Bombers in the summer, where he would gain experience against the most competitive travel ball tournaments. Growing up in a large, competitive family instilled in him a sense of teamwork, concentration, and discipline, which would serve him well in his early years of college baseball.

Anthony Eyanson Career

In 2023, Anthony Eyanson enrolled at UC San Diego, where he became a freshman starter. He made eight appearances (seven starts) and recorded a 2-1 record with a 4.34 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 29 innings. His freshman season demonstrated some of his upside, as he was sharp with his off-speed offerings and could generate soft contact. The breakout came in his sophomore season (2024).

Anthony Eyanson took over as Friday-night starter and posted a 62 record with a 307 ERA in 82 innings pitched, striking out 85 and allowing opposing batters only a .190 average. His performance prompted him to win Big West Pitcher of the Week and pitch a complete game in a 41 win over Cal Poly, the second complete game in Division I history at UCSD. His command, faster pitches, and the way he dominated on the mound made people pay attention to him going into the summer.

Eyanson then spent the summer of 2008 pitching in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Cotuit Kettleers, where he pitched against some of the better college hitters and once again impressed. His exceptional summer saw him get picked to play in the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, a highly competitive team and a significant boost to his national status.

After a transfer to LSU during the offseason before the 2025 season, Anthony Eyanson was immediately named to the Tigers’ starting rotation. Playing in the SEC, which is the most competitive conference in college baseball, he took his performance to another level.

He completed his junior campaign with a 7-2 record, 2.74 ERA, and 142 strikeouts in 98.2 innings, one of the highest strikeout totals in the country (12.95 K/9). He also pitched two complete games, and one against Texas A&M, where he struck out 14 batters and pitched a shutout, which won him SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week.

Anthony Eyanson has a fastball in the mid-90s, a tight breaking ball, and a developing changeup that keeps batters guessing. He is famous because he can pitch deep into games, handle the strike zone, and change his strategy in the middle of the inning. His poise, control, and silent leadership have been commended by coaches and scouts, and this makes him not only a starter on weekends but also a future professional prospect.
