Posting a trail of disturbing social media posts, Benjamin Jeffrey Smith, who describes himself as an anti-social machinist, belongs to Portland, Oregon. The man was accused of shooting dead five people together in a shooting on February 19, 2022. One of the Black Lives Matter protesters died in the shooting.

Benjamin Jeffrey Smith aka Polybun was first identified by authorities as a suspect on February 22, 2022. He was originally named by OregonLive, which reported that witnesses had identified the suspect. On the other hand, OPB editor Ryan Haas reported the same day that Smith was not charged when he was admitted to the hospital, but that an arrest warrant was issued for him, sufficient to charge him with first-degree murder, first attempted murder, assault and wrongful death use of a weapon.

Authorities did not initially name the suspect or let the victim die, but on February 22, he was identified as 60-year-old June Knightly (Brandy Lynn Knightly). On the other hand, OregonLive identified the Black Matter Lives protester as June Knightly, she was killed and shot. Her nickname, which was written on the shirt, was T-Rex, according to the outlet. Smith’s roommate told OPB in an interview that he was just a sad and angry guy…he talked about wanting to do that…. He was mad at the mask requirement and he was mad at the damn liberals… he also worked at the Peninsula Iron Works.
On the other hand, OregonLive reported that Knightly belonged to Northeast Portland and was also part of a women’s group involved in the protest. One of the people, named Kathleen Saadat, described Knightly as being warm, kind, and the kind of person who used to think of other things and work towards making the world a better place and herself a better person to do in the world.

Benjamin Smith Charges
According to reports, Benjamin Smith has now been charged with at least nine felonies, including second-degree murder. The prosecutor’s statement said Smith confronted the group of protesters by yelling at them. They told him to leave them alone and suddenly he pulled his gun out of his pocket and started shooting at the crowd. Checking his social media, he has described himself as a local “furry” who goes by the name Polybun. Police officers confirmed that Polybun is the same suspect who goes by the name of Ben Smith. He shot and was critically injured in the incident. However, Smith remained hospitalized there because of his injury.
Disturbing posts on social media
Many social media posts have been published on Telegram and other websites under the Polybun name. The person named Polybun surfaced and revealed comments like killing people and that seems willingly disrespectful. Smith is also available on Reddit where he developed a thread called Polybun. One of his comments on the social networking site read: “Censorship is never okay, no matter the reason. Fuck you.” He has written many comments, including describing a story in which a man killed the neighborhood over an argument over a snow blower.
He has written about Dogecoin in very esoteric posts. Aside from that, he has written about cars and how they grew up in Indiana. In one of his social media posts and the thread, he wrote that his father reeked of “Jim Beam and Failure,” which he had written about burning people, and described the character and personality inherent in the man. Smith also had a business at one point called Polyhead.net. Online records indicate that the company was based in Indiana.
