Scott Michael Rueck was born on 18th July 1969, making him 55 years old as of 2024. He went to Glencoe High School to receive his primary education. Rueck comes from a basketball family background. His father’s name is Marv Rueck. Marv Reuck remained a long-time basketball coaching staff at Glencoe and Hillsboro High School. Marv had been the first boy’s basketball coach at Glencoe High School.

Scott Michael Rueck shared his childhood memories with his younger sister. The name of the sister is Heidi Rueck. She is a graduate of 1995 class from George Fox. Heidi was also a basketball player during her college days. She set the records for school games, including single-game assists as NAIA All-American Point Guard. Glencoe High School opened in 1980, and Scott’s father, Marv, spent nearly a season as a head coach at Glencoe.

Talking about Scott’s education, he received a college degree from Oregon State University in Corvallis. He had a degree in exercise and sports science in 1991. While he was still studying at Oregon State, he started his coaching career at Santiam Christian High School. There, he was an assistant for the boys’ basketball team from 1989 until 1993. He began his professional career with George Fox in 1993 as an assistant coach, guiding or teaching women’s basketball team. In 1996, he was appointed the head coach for the women’s team of basketball. Simultaneously, he became a tennis coach. However, he could maintain the tennis coach designation for one season only [1995 to 1996].

In 2009, Scoot Rueck helped the basketball team, Bruins, to reach a record of 32-0. The team won the honor of the NCAA Division III national title. The same year, Scott earned the title of national coach of the year for Division III women’s basketball. Overall, Scott Rueck spent 13 years and 11 months at George Fox as a head coach. In the time he spent with the Bruins, he had 288 (wins) and 88 (loss) games.

Oregon State (July 2010 to Till Date)

Scott Rueck was appointed the coach for Beavers in July 2010, replacing LaVonda Wagner. In his presence, the Beavers have appeared in NCAA Tournaments at least eight times. The NCAA Tournament is the eighth time in 2024 that he helped the team to appear. In each appearance, the basketball team has reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. In 2016, the Beavers reached the final four after defeating Kim Mulkey’s Baylor Bears with a score of 60–57. The Beavers won around 32 seasons in women’s basketball program history. The Beavers have recorded to have a record of #2 in the nation.

Scott Rueck is a married man with an extended family situated in Newberg, USA. The wife’s name is Kerry Aillaud, and she was a guard at George Fox. Kerry was Scott’s assistant at George Fox for around seven years. When Scott started coaching “the Beavers,” Kerry would watch the games with her three kids. Scott and Kerry together share three children- Cole, Kate, and Macey. Kerry played basketball for George Fox from 1993 to 1995. From 1998 to 2006, she was the assistant coach for the program.
