Brittani Coury is an American Paralympic professional para-snowboarding athlete and a Winter Paralympics silver-medalist. Her disability class is SB-LL and has been seen competing in events such as snowboard cross and banked slalom. In 2018 she even won the silver medal at the Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. She can currently be seen at the 2022 Paralympics Winter Games in Beijing. At the Games, she received support from Ralph Lauren, Nike and Delta.
Early life
Brittani Coury was born on March 27, 1986 in Farmington, New Mexico, United States of America. Her parents’ names are Jim and Candi Coury while James and Tiffani are her siblings with whom she spent her childhood. At a young age she was very adventurous and often went mountain biking, snowboarding, water surfing and hiking. Brittani was homeschooled before high school. She later attended Farmington High School and completed her high school education. She later attended Pueblo Community College for her college and postgraduate education.

After completing her studies, she worked as a nurse and paramedic. However, in December 2003, she fell and broke her right ankle while snowboarding. By 2006, she had ankle problems and underwent surgery to remove bone spurs. She underwent many surgeries and in June 2011 she finally decided to amputate her leg below the knee. She later competed in various Paralympic sports. In 2018, she appeared at the PyeongChang Paralympic Winter Games, competing in women’s snowboard cross and women’s banked slalom.
In 2019, she was spotted competing in the women’s banked slalom and women’s snowboard cross at the Piha 2019 World Para Snowboard Championships. Later in 2021, she won a silver medal at the World Cup by competing in snowboard cross. At the 2022 Paralympic Games in Beijing, she carries the hopes of thousands of people for sure winning the gold medal.
