Early life
Chase Dollander was born on October 26, 2001, in Evans, Georgia. He is the son of Sandra Wall and Brian Dollander. Trever Dollander is the stepson of David Wall and he has two older brothers, Hunter Dollander and Drew Wall, and a younger brother, Trever Dollander. Hunter Dollander, Dollander’s brother, was a pitcher for Georgia Gwinnett College.
He attended Greenbrier High School in Evans, where he played baseball. In 2018, his sophomore year, he had a 2.36 ERA with a 5-3 record. As a junior in 2019, he had a 6-1 record, a .79 ERA, and 71 strikeouts in 61+2/3 innings. He signed up for the collegiate baseball game at Georgia Southern University after being drafted in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft.

Chase Dollander made 11 starts in 2021 as a freshman for Georgia Southern, posting a 4-3 with a 4.04 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 49 innings. After the season he transferred to the University of Tennessee. Despite missing three weeks of the season with a line drive injury, he started the 2021 season for them.
That season he was 10-0 with a 2.39 ERA, 108 strikeouts over 79 innings, and 16 wins (14 starts). He received the SEC Baseball Pitcher of the Year award. Heading into the 2023 season, Dollander is considered one of the top contenders for the upcoming MLB year. After pitching 6.2 innings to defeat LSU, hitting nine batters, and conceding just four hits and one run earned in his ninth win of the year, he was selected to the SEC All-Tournament Team.
In a crucial showing during an NCAA Knoxville Super Regional eliminator, he improved to 10-0 and held Notre Dame on two runs with five hits for 7.0 innings while recording five strikeouts and no walks. He threw six no-hit innings in Tennessee’s opener against Mississippi State and led the Vols to a 27-2 win; The day ended after a long, seven-run half-inning for Tennessee, who led 21-0 after being relieved.
Rise to Fame
When he faced Georgia again, he was 6.0 innings, giving up just one run in three hits, hitting six strikeouts, and earning his seventh win of the year. In 2023, he started the season at No. 9 in South Carolina and put in his best showing. In 5.1 innings, he knocked out 13 batsmen, allowed no walk, and allowed only two runs on two hits. He defeated #15 Kentucky, fanned out six wildcats in five innings, and allowed three runs to score.
Chase got off to a strong start in a loss to Georgia, hitting six hitters and allowing three runs with eight hits in six innings. He then threw his first full career game in a 17-1 run-rule win over #2 Vanderbilt. He knocked out nine batters, allowing just one run with six hits in seven innings of work.
Chase Dollander defeated the Flyers on his home debut in 2023 by hitting 12 batters in 5.2 innings against Dayton, earning his first win of the season. He also threw 4.2 strong innings against Arizona on the opening day of the MLB Desert Invitational, conceding just three hits while beating seven batters, but suffered the loss, his first in a Tennessee jersey.
