Emmet Sheehan is an American professional baseball of Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Sheehan played in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League for the Bristol Blues and New Britain Bees in 2018 and 2020. In 2018 he was an FCBL All-Star. Sheehan competed in the 2019 New England Collegiate Baseball League as an All-Star for the Danbury Westerners.

Emmet Sheehan was born on November 15, 1999, and raised by his parents Maureen and George Sheehan. He belongs to the family of sports enthusiasts as his mother played volleyball in Georgetown. He is currently studying Communications at Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. Born in New York City, Sheehan spent his formative years in Darien, Connecticut, where he has lived since he was five.
Sheehan spent three years at Fordham Preparatory in the Bronx, New York before transferring to Salisbury School in Salisbury, Connecticut. While attending Boston College, he played college baseball for the Boston College Eagles for three seasons. As a junior, he had a 5-5 record, a 4.23 ERA, and 106 strikeouts in 76+2/3 innings bowled.

Sheehan was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the sixth round of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft. After signing with the franchise, he was assigned to the Arizona Complex League Dodgers at the rookie level to begin his pro career before being promoted to the low-level baseball team. A Rancho Cucamonga tremors and then a second time to the high-A Great Lakes Loons.
Sheehan had a 3-0 record and a 5.17 ERA during the season, throwing in seven games for 15+2/3 innings and beating 34 batters. He returned to Great Lakes to start the 2022 season. Emmet Sheehan played 18 games (12 starts) for the Loons before being called up to the Double-A Tulsa Drillers late in the season, where he started two games. He had a 7-2 record between the two teams, a 2.91 ERA, and 106 strikeouts.
Sheehan started at Tulsa in 2023, where he made 10 starts out of a possible 12 and boasted a 4-1 record and a 1.86 ERA. He also hit 88 batters in more than 53 innings. He was promoted to the major leagues on June 16 to face the San Francisco Giants. On his debut, he allowed two walks and three strikeouts over six innings with scoreless pitching without a hit. In his first professional game, he defeated Mike Yastrzemski.
