Goran Dragic, also known as “The Dragon” is a Slovenian professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs. Goran was born on May 6, 1986 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. His parents’ names are Marinko Dragic and Mojca Dragic. He also has a brother named Zoran Dragic. At the age of 17 he made his debut with KD Ilirija in the Slovenian lower league. He played in Slovenian basketball league, Adria league and Spanish ACB league. In 2007 he joined the Union Olimpija club and won the Slovenian championship. The next year he entered the NBA draft. In 2008 he was picked in the second round 45th overall by the San Antonio Spurs but was later traded to the Phoenix Suns. He played 55 games and averaged 4.5 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game, and 0.5 steals per game. He played for the Phoenix Suns from 2008 to 2011 and also featured in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
On February 24, 2011, he was traded to the Houston Rockets. He played games against the Minnesota Timberwolves and other teams.
