She grew up alongside her two sisters Breanne and Chandler. Her younger sister, Chandler, remained a student at the Clemson campus. Kelsey is the granddaughter of William Riggs. Kelsey is a woman of above-average build. Kelsey began her broadcasting career at CBS affiliate WCSC-TV. For about a year she held her job at Live 5 News while also working as a production assistant. After that, she went to WBTW-TV in Florence in 2012. She was appointed sports presenter for two years and worked until 2015.
