Lavender Darcangelo is a blind and autistic singer from Fitchburg, Massachusetts who recently received the Golden Buzzer for America’s Got Talent from Heidi Klum. Darcangelo wowed the judges and audience with her interpretation of “Out Here On My Own” from the film Fame. Her audition was described by the judges as “sensational”, “magical” and “inspirational”.
Early life
Lavender was born in 1996 and adopted by Wil and Jamie Darcangelo in 2017. They run a mentoring program for young singers. Lavender asked Wil to adopt her as his daughter within a month of meeting him. In 2017, Will and his spouse Jamie became her adoptive parents.
In Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the First Parish Church hosts a music program for young singers. Darcangelo began singing before she could speak and had perfect pitch. She also plays piano and guitar. She is an advocate for disabilities and wants to build a school for social purposes. There will be courses based on what children are naturally curious about.

Lavender has been singing since she was three years old. Even she has performed in various venues including churches, cabarets, and virtual concerts. She participated in a mentoring program started by Wil Darcangelo, who became her singing teacher and later her adoptive father along with his husband Jamie.
Lavender appeared on Good Morning America in 2019 and shared her story of blindness, autism, and adoption.
