Early life
Rylen Wiggins is from Wylie, Texas. She started playing softball at the age of four. Growing up, Rylen played multiple sports including basketball, soccer, and volleyball. She eventually chose softball because her mother also played softball when she was a child. It helped her bond with her mother, making her love the sport even more. Her father played basketball when he was a child.
As a kid, Rylen always imagined being the “GOAT” of softball, just like basketball player Michael Jordan. She graduated from Wylie High School, in Texas. She used to play softball at her school. Aside from sports, Rylen was also good at academics. She graduated in 2020 among the top seven percent of her class. Rylen Wiggins later went to Texas A&M University. She joined the Texas A&M Aggies softball team.

Rylen began her athletic career in high school. She was on her high school softball team. Heath Damron coached Rylen. During her junior year, she was a member of the track team and did a triple jump. Rylen was named the Wylie High School Defensive MVP every three years. In her freshman and sophomore years, she was named District 10-6A Defensive Player of the Year. She was also a TGCA All-Star team selection as a sophomore and junior.
From 2012 to 2019, she played club softball for Team Mizuno Impulse. In 2019 she played for the Texas Glory. In 2021, she transferred to Texas A&M University and began playing for the Aggies. As a freshman, she played 54 games. She quickly became an integral part of the team. Her first college career success was in her freshman year at Sam Houston State.
As a sophomore, she started all 59 games of the season and played second base overall. She pulled four total walks, and one RBI against Florida, and contributed two carries that season. Rylen had a career-high three walks in a match against Georgia and contributed four runs and 5 RBI on four hits in the three-match streak. She ended the season with a .224 batting average. On the team, she placed third in runs and home runs and second in walks.
The following season, Rylen improved her game. She moved from second to third base. She started every game in the season. Rylen hit a run in a match against Tarleton in February. She played a key role in the team’s win over A&M Commerce. She stole her first baseball of the season against Oklahoma.
