Early life
Adama Sanogo was born on February 12, 2002, in Bamako, Mali making her age 21 in 2023. As for Adama’s family background, he was raised in a caring environment by his parents – Awa Traore (mother) and Cheickne Sanogo (father). He has a younger brother studying in Italy. He was at the Patrick School (Hillside, NJ) under coach Chris Chavannes. During the season, he averaged 13.3 points and 10.5 rebounds in 14 games. He got the opportunity to play for the New York Rens, so he trained under coach Andy Borman. He gained popularity as a four-star recruit while competing for the New York Rens at the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) circuit. On May 5, 2023, Adama signed on to play college basketball for the UConn Huskies men’s basketball team.

He played in all 23 games as a freshman, and 20 games started. Adama averaged 7.3 points, 55% (FG%), and 4.8 rebounds in 17 minutes per game. He received Big East All-Freshman Team honors. He played as a sophomore in all 29 games and started 28 games. Adama averaged 14.8 points, 50% (FG%), and 8.8 rebounds in 29.2 minutes per game. He was named a 2022 First Team All-Big East.
