Alene Tchekmedyian is an American journalist and has reported for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Previously, she covered the criminal courts news and breaking news that was validated across California. Before joining The Times in 2016, she worked as a crime and police reporter for Glendale News-Press and Burbank Leader.
Alene grew up in Huntington Beach, where she spent some time while attending a prestigious school and college. In addition, she continued her education and graduated from UCLA.
Alene became a source of controversy after writing about the leaked documents and video of the case involving Sheriff Alex Villanueva’s criminal investigation.
