Alyssa Popelka is an American college softball player who has committed to playing for the University of Texas at Austin, where she hopes to stay from 2019 to 2023. She is signed or committed to another year with Texas Longhorns Softball. Alyssa is a young and energetic student majoring in physical culture. She previously played and maintained her softball career at Westwood High School.

Despite this, she is a member of the National Honor Society and has received numerous Westwood HS 4.0 Academic Awards. Alyssa Popelka was like a “local product” after getting fired from Westwood High School and coming to the senior campaign, where she hit with 33 runs, five extra base hits, 12 RBIs and 26 stolen bases for a hit of about .495 scored.
As a junior, she struggled for .592 with 45 hits, 29 runs made, nine extra base hits and 30 stolen bases, earning her all titles such as TXSWA All-State 6A Third Team, All-District 13-6A First Team, Co- Offensive Player of the Year and many other prestigious awards.
While living into her freshman season, she was selected once for the TXSWA All-State 6A Honorable Mention, first-team All-District 13-6A and second-team Austin American-Statesman All-Centex after scoring a 26 had scored runs, 27 hits, .342 clip, 28 steals and a .453 OBP.
Freshman Season (2020 and 2021)
During the 2020 freshman season, she earned game time in at least 20 games and struggled to .500 (2-on-4) with 12 runs scored, six stolen bases and two RBIs. In the March 7, 2020 game, she walked and scored twice in a win over Texas Southern, where she had an innings-6 and a 13-5 aggregate score.
On February 25, 2020, she came off the bench and eventually hit a game-winning run with a 2-1 aggregate score and a win over No. 10 Louisiana.
On February 21, she had another win after going 1-1 with an RBI, 5 innings and a win over Lipscomb. On February 6, she won her first collegiate run and RBI while going 17-0 and 5 innings aggregate with a win over Maryland. She went single for her only batting and propelled her team to victory on February 21, 2021 by a 5-1 aggregate score against North Texas.
