Early life
Brock Wilken was born on June 17, 2002, to Katie and Josh Wilken. His uncle Kris Wilken coached him at Bloomingdale High School and played baseball for Houston and the Baltimore Orioles, where he achieved AAA. He was named to the state’s first team as a junior and hit .470 with 12 home runs and 26 RBIs in 25 games.
As a senior, he hit four home runs in eight games before the season was cut short by COVID-19. He was the Ostingers Baseball Academy club baseball captain and chose Wake Forest over Virginia Tech, UCF, Miami, East Carolina, South Florida, and Stetson.

He had an outstanding debut season for the Harwich Mariners and was named the Cape Cod League’s Most Valuable Player. He led the league in doubles and walks and a .302 batting average with 39 hits, 10 doubles, six home runs, 26 RBIs and 26 runs scored. His batting average (tie eighth), hits (second), home runs (tie fourth), and RBIs (fourth) all put him in the top 10, and he was named the league’s Player of the Week with a score of .438/. 591/.875 line.
With a .279 batting average, 17 homers, 44 RBIs, 41 runs made, 11 doubles, a .617 slugging percentage, and a .365 on-base percentage, he started and started third base in all 47 games. Against Longwood, he had his 100th career hit and played 22 multi-hit games and 18 multi-RBI games.
He hit five or more runs in four games, including three home runs and eight RBIs against Louisville, the highest of his career. In the series opener against Boston College, he hit two home runs and had seven RBIs. He also hit two homers in wins over Georgia Tech and Longwood. He had a career record with two ties against NJIT and hit five home runs in consecutive games.
At Georgia Tech, he had four carries, a career-high, and had an 11-game hitting streak early in the season. He had his first career triple in the ACC tournament against NC State and helped Wake Forest set the ACC tournament record for most home runs with his two-run home run against the Hurricanes in Charlotte.
