Early life
Brock Wilken was born on June 17, 2002, to Katie and Josh Wilken. His uncle Kris Wilken coached him at Bloomingdale High School and played baseball for Houston and the Baltimore Orioles, where he achieved AAA. He was named to the state’s first team as a junior and hit .470 with 12 home runs and 26 RBIs in 25 games.

He had an outstanding debut season for the Harwich Mariners and was named the Cape Cod League’s Most Valuable Player. He led the league in doubles and walks and a .302 batting average with 39 hits, 10 doubles, six home runs, 26 RBIs and 26 runs scored. His batting average (tie eighth), hits (second), home runs (tie fourth), and RBIs (fourth) all put him in the top 10, and he was named the league’s Player of the Week with a score of .438/. 591/.875 line.
With a .279 batting average, 17 homers, 44 RBIs, 41 runs made, 11 doubles, a .617 slugging percentage, and a .365 on-base percentage, he started and started third base in all 47 games. He had a career record with two ties against NJIT and hit five home runs in consecutive games.
At Georgia Tech, he had four carries, a career-high, and had an 11-game hitting streak early in the season. He had his first career triple in the ACC tournament against NC State and helped Wake Forest set the ACC tournament record for most home runs with his two-run home run against the Hurricanes in Charlotte.
