BT Riopelle, also known as Bradley Taylor Riopelle, is a catcher and first baseman for the Florida Gators. He previously played for Coastal Carolina University. While serving as a baseball player for Kyle Rustay and Scott Kelly at Lassiter High School, he received four varsity degrees and was a 2018 Rawlings/Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American. As a junior, he was selected to the All-Southeastern Conference First Team as a catcher. Buster Posey, a finalist for national college catcher of the year, named him SEC Co-Player of the Week.
Early life
Bradley Riopelle was born on July 17, 1999, and grew up in Boca Raton, Florida to Duane and Cappi. He has a sister named Brynn. He is currently studying Sports Management at the University of Florida. Riopelle spent three years on the Carolina Coast before joining the Gators, and in his senior year there he was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team. During his career, he played in 83 games (65 starts) and had 258 at-bats with .267/.367/.477 strokes with 12 home runs, a triple, 16 doubles, 46 runs, 43 RBI, and nine steals.

Riopelle had a great 2021, hitting .270/.354/.459 with 50 hits, 12 home runs, 11 doubles, 27 RBI, 27 runs, 17 walks, 8 steals and a .980 fielding % for Coastal Carolina. He outperformed all SEC catchers in slugging percentage (.551), runs batted (55), and home runs (15). He appeared in 64 games, 62 of them in the starting XI, and averaged .304/.371/.551 with 25 doubles, 38 runs, and six steals while playing catchers, first base, and designated hitters.
After Riopelle won 2-for-4 with a double against Georgia State, Riopelle went deep for the first time as a gator against Liberty, driving in four runs. He had three singles and a home run for Alabama and had four runs against Florida A&M.
BT Riopelle hit a home run for the second straight year, went 2-3 with one home run and two RBIs, scored twice, and stole twice as Alabama beat No. 2 Arkansas. He hit three home runs and had a career-best five runs in a 3-on-4 day against Vanderbilt, and did the same in a 3-on-5 day against Kentucky, also with three RBI.
Riopelle won 4-of-4 with a home run and six RBIs, a career-best, against Mississippi State. After helping Florida to a 4-0 record and a three-game win over Mississippi State, he was named an SEC Co-Named Player of the Week – high eight RBI.
In the SEC championship game on May 29, in the game against No. 1 Tennessee, Riopelle hit a home run and went for a 2-on-5 with two RBI. He had a .992 fielding percentage on 499 defensive chances and was third on the roster with 20 multiple-hitting games and 13 multiple-RBI games.
