Cheslie Kryst, in full, Cheslie Corrinne Kryst was an American personality. She was the title winner of Miss USA 2019. Despite this, she was a TV presenter, model and beauty pageant. Cheslie represented the USA at Miss Universe 2019 and finished in the top 10 candidates. Cheslie was also a qualified attorney and was a correspondent for Extra from October 2019 until her death. Cheslie has been nominated twice for the Daytime Emmy Awards.
Cheslie Kryst was born on April 28, 1991 in Jackson, Michigan to a Polish-American father and an African-American mother. She grew up with four brothers and one sister. Her mother’s name is April Simpkins, who also belonged to the fashion and pomp line. Her mother competed in pageants and was crowned Mrs. North Carolina US by the time Kryst was a child. The family later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina when Kryst was young. Thereafter, the family settled in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where Cheslie attended Northwestern High School to achieve her elementary education.
The family moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina, and Kryst transferred to Fort Mill High School, where she graduated in 2009. After completing her high school studies, Kryst moved to Columbia, South Carolina to pursue her further studies at the University of South Carolina. She began her studies cum laude at the Darla Moore School of Business. Kryst completed a degree in Marketing and Human Resource Management and received the degree.
She became an active member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, the mock trial, and the Gamecocks women’s track team. After completing her undergraduate studies, Kryst enrolled at Wake Forest University School of Law, graduating in 2017 with a Juris Doctor and a Masters of Business Administration.

After graduating, Cheslie Kryst became a licensed attorney in Carolina and South Carolina. She began her professional life while practicing as an attorney at Poyner Spruill LLP, where she practiced complex civil litigation. She also volunteered for clients. She became the founder of a fashion blog called White Collar Glam, which aimed to help women dress professionally for office jobs.
Later, Kryst started her glamor career right after winning an MIss Freshman at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina as a teenager. She later achieved the title of Miss Fort Mill High School in Fort Mill, South Carolina. After a multi-year hiatus from the glamor career, Kryst made two attempts.
She competed in Miss North Carolina and finished in the top ten. Again she competed in the same event where she finished the competition and became the first runner-up on the second attempt. In October 2019, Kryst became a New York correspondent for Extra.
She began serving the network as a special correspondent. She interviewed actor Terrence Howard, who was planning to retire from acting after the season of the television series Empire. In 2020, Kryst received a nomination for Outstanding Entertainment News Show. She was again nominated for a second time the following year at the 48th Daytime Emmy Awards.

Cause of death
Cheslie died at the age of 30 and her death was declared on January 30, 2022 in New York City. She fell from a 60-story high-rise apartment in midtown Manhattan. She also reportedly left a suicide note, leaving her belongings to her mother. She passed away on Sunday 30th January 2022. In light of her tragic death, Harnaaz Sandhu wrote a heartfelt message for Cheslie, saying that the news was heartbreaking.
Cheslie was a beauty queen, lawyer, fashion blogger and Extra TV correspondent. She was pronounced dead at the scene. In the picture shared by Harnaaxz Sandhu, the two girls could be seen sharing a smile after winning the 70th Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel. Cheslie Kryst lived on the ninth floor of the same apartment and left a suicide note. However, the official cause of death is not yet known. The investigation into the case is still ongoing.
