Jalen Pickett is an American personality who is a college basketball player committed to playing for the Penn State Nittany Lions of the Big Ten Conference. He was previously signed to play for Siena Saints. On April 25, 2021, Pickett announced his transfer to Penn State, selecting the Nittany Lions over Oregon State.
Early life
Jalen Pickett was born October 22, 1999 and has been living in his early 20s as of 2022. He is a graduate student at the SPIRE Institute and Academy, an Olympic training center in Geneva, Ohio. Jalen is the son of Gwendolyn Pickett and grew up alongside his brother named Annon Bennett. He is currently completing his studies with a focus on broadcast journalism.

Jalen began his basketball career playing high school basketball for the Aquinas Institute in Rochester, New York. While playing basketball in his junior years, he led his team to qualify for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Class AA Championship, where he received the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. As he entered his senior years, he averaged 20 and 10 rebounds per game and helped the team reach the Class AA Federation Final.
Jalen played for the Albany-based program city at the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) circuit. He was one of five-star recruit Isaiah Stewart’s teammates. On February 17, 2019, Jalen worked his way to the highest career rankings with 46 points and 13 assists in a 107-100 triple-overtime loss to Quinnipiac.
During the pandemic, he had to take many breaks as he also suffered from various hamstring injuries and ended his season with 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Despite this, he received the honor of All-MAAC honors three times in a row. On April 25, 2021, he announced that he would choose to play for Penn State after moving to Nittany Lions via Oregon State. During the March 2022 Big Ten tournament, Jalen, positioned at sentry post, officiated the game while also being the main catalyst for Penn State’s success in the second half.

He scored 22 points with 9-of-14 shots and 13 points in the second half of the game for the game-high. He also contributed seven rebounds and four assists in the second half. Pickett, who had his memorable transfer from Siena, appears to have already locked himself into the Big Ten tournament debut. This is because he was seen babbling after making the basket and later said he was talking to himself thereby providing the court with the expression of emotion and energy.
