Early life
Vondrousova was born on June 28, 1999, in the small village of Sokolov, near the German-Czech border. Her father David introduced her to tennis at the age of four, while her mother Jindřiška was a former volleyball player for SK Slavia Prague.
While experimenting with other sports as a teenager, she quickly focused on tennis and in 2006 she competed in a national mini-tennis competition in Prague. At the age of 15 she moved to Prague to train at Sparta Praha Tennis Club. She is still active today.
