Sanela Diana Jenkins was born on October 24, 1973 in Sarajevo, Bosnia with the birth name Sanela Dijana Ćatić. She grew up in a middle-class family where her father worked as an economist and her mother worked as an accountant.
The family lived in a modest block of flats during the war or siege of Sarajevo. It was a tragic time when her younger brother Iris was killed and shot dead by Serbian soldiers at the age of just 21. During her younger brother’s death, Diana was studying at the University of Sarajevo, continuing her education in economics.
With conditions deteriorating and war looming, Diana was forced to flee in April 1992. It was the bloody conflict that led to the war and remained the same until December 1995.

After graduating, she has acquired a swimwear line called Melissa Odabash. After a few years, she launched the Neuro line, which was actually a beverage company based in Sherman Oaks, where she positioned herself as the company’s CEO and President.
Diana is also the founder of a music label called D Empire Entertainment where she has positioned herself as CEO. D Empire Entertainment is a full service music label that represents established and emerging artists within the intersection of innovative and traditional media strategy, recording, branding, publicity, distribution and licensing.
In the second week of May 2022, she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – Season 12 where she has developed her identity as a philanthropist, businesswoman, mother of three, refugee and combatant of the time 1992 in her native country of Sarajevo.
Despite all of this, she is a regular contestant in producing charities and raising funds for numerous advocacy programs such as UCLA’s Sanela Diana Jenkins Human Rights Project.

Diana, the owner of both of her businesses, initially developed a relationship with Roger “Big Dog” Jenkins who was a prominent executive at Barclays Bank. During the marriage there was a difference of around 23 years between the two personalities.
