Against Vanderbilt, he started for the second time in his SEC career, hit 5.1 innings, and allowed just one run with four hits without walks and seven strikeouts; The seven Ks was a career-high for Floyd in an SEC game.
Tyson had allowed just two runs on five hits with three walks and 12 strikeouts in 12.1 innings in three relief appearances before his start against Vanderbilt. In his brilliant relief game against Ole Miss, he allowed just one run with two hits, two walks, and three strikeouts in six innings. Against Alabama, he had a great relief performance, scoring 4.0 innings while allowing just one run on two hits with no walks and five punchouts.
In a starting role against UL Lafayette, Tyson allowed just two runs from four hits while knocking out eight batters. Floyd had two walks and peaked in his career with eight strikeouts in a win over Bethune-Cookman, conceding just one unearned run with two hits in 6.0 innings of work.
