Originally from Springfield, Illinois, Yogesh Raut (40 years) was raised by loving and caring parents named Jagdish and Dr. Aarti Raut up. he studied at Grant Middle School. Yogesh attended Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora and had his early career in physical education (as a freshman) while attending Springfield High School. Yogesh said he’s auditioned for the show more than half a dozen times over the past 20 years. He said he received a call first and believed he had been chosen. But after the call, an answer had to be obtained from the authorities. But he still felt good because he thought it was an excellent opportunity to be recognized for something good. Also, he was soon contacted because he always wanted to do his best in life.
He was involved in the Illinois academic circuit, playing against the likes of Colby Burnett, one of the former ‘Jeopardy!’ Tournament winners, and James Holzhauer, one of the most famous ‘Jeopardy!’ players of all time. Even he told Ken that he was the man who would probably hit them both.
Because Raut had grown up watching TV and the show Jeopardy all the time around the house, he knew that one day he would be on stage. He’s completed many written tests and in-person auditions in Chicago, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, and Phoenix over the years, but had to pass other things to appear on the show. He was also giving auctions in person on a Zoom call in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
