Nicole May is a right-handed pitcher who attended Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California, and currently plays for the Oklahoma Sooners. Gatorade named her California’s top female softball player for the 2018-19 season. During her junior season, May led the Falcons to a perfect 28-0 record and victory in the North Coast Section Division I tournament.
Early life
Nicole was born on November 15 to parents Kevin and Charlie. During her childhood, her parents were always there for her and provided her with the best possible resources to support her. In addition, she has a brother named Jack, who has supported her in all her decisions so far. Nicole had no interest in playing softball when she first tried it at the age of nine.
She didn’t understand what her coaches were trying to teach her about the game and as a result, wasn’t enjoying her time on the pitch. After her parents put her in a new league, she developed a passion for the sport. Softball America lists her as the #4 recruit in the class of 2020 and she will play for the Oklahoma Sooners in her freshman year. Nicole May attended Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California.

May was speaking with several other Oklahoma pitchers when she learned she would be starting the first game of the Norman Super Regional. The Sooners’ bullpen has relied on the freshman more than any other substitute this season. May was a flawless 24-0 player at the circle in her junior year of high school. With an earned run average of .32, she batted 246 hitters.
She also received the 2018-2019 California Gatorade Softball Player of the Year and 2019 NorCal Softball Pitcher of the Year titles. Nicole joined the Sooners in 2020 as one of the OC Batbusters’ three rookies. She was an integral part of the team that won back-to-back WCWS titles in both 2021 and 2022. For the 2023 season, Nicole took charge of pitching as the Sooners’ squad looks rock solid and is likely looking for their third title of the year.
