Andrew Nembhard was born on January 16, 2000, in Aurora, Ontari,o Canada. He is the son of his father, Claude Nembhard, and his mother, Mary Nembhard. He has a younger brother named Ryan Nembhard, who was born on March 10, 2003. His brother is also a basketball player who recently joined the WCC. As a student, Andrew attended Vaughan Secondary School in Ontario and then attended Montverde Academy in Florida, USA. He then attended Florida College in 2018 and graduated in 2020. He then joined Gonzaga College in 2020 and is currently studying there.
Andrew Nembhard career
Andrew started every game in his freshman season with the Gators and had the fourth-highest total of assists in school history. He averaged 8.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists and finished fifth in the Southeastern Conference on assist-turnover ratio. He was then drafted for the 2019 NBA draft but chose to play for the Gators in his sophomore season. At that point, he was averaging 11.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, which led the SEC with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.2.
He was drafted into the 2020 NBA draft the next season, but hired an NCAA-certified agent that allowed him to return to Florida. He announced he would be joining Gonzaga and opted to play for the Bulldogs starting in June 2020 rather than Duke, USC, Stanford and many more he was offered a spot by. In the 2021 inaugural season, he mostly came away averaging 9.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists for a team that entered its conference tournament undefeated.
