Early life
Buddy Hield was born Chavano Rainier Hield on December 17, 1992, in Freeport County of West Grand Bahama, The Bahamas. Buddy is the son of Vincent Hield and Jackie Swann. His parents divorced when he was young, and he and his six siblings moved in with his grandmother. At a young age, Buddy received his high school education at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas, and graduated from college in Oklahoma in 2016
Buddy Hield career
On June 23, 2016, Hield was selected by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2016 NBA draft. Buddy signed with the Pelicans on July 22, 2016. On December 15, he won the game against the Indiana Pacers, and on January 3, 2017, he was named December Rookie of the Month. He then began playing for the Sacramento Kings in 2017, where he set a new career high on April 11, 2017, winning against the Phoenix Suns. He continued his career by playing for his team. On December 23, 2020, Hield had 22 points, four rebounds, and three assists, and a game-winning win in a 124-122 overtime win over the Denver Nuggets.
For his national career, Buddy traveled to the city of Tepic in Nayarit, Mexico, from August 1-7, 2014 to represent the Bahamas national team in the 2014 Centrobasket, a FIBA Americas championship for the Central American and Caribbean subzone. Hield’s coach in the tournament was Larry Eustachy. He averaged 19.8 points per game, leading the tournament. Buddy has played many games in his career, but he hasn’t mentioned the next game he will play or the next tournament he will play in.
