Cade Beloso, a left-hander who plays first base and designated hitter for LSU, suffered a season-ending knee injury before the start of the 2022 season and was absent for most of the year. In the 2019 and 2020 seasons, he started at LSU’s first base, and in 2021 he was the Tigers’ main hitter-designated.

Early life
Cade Allen Beloso was born on June 29, 2000, in Metairie, Louisiana. His parents are Rodney and Tiffany Beloso, and he has an older brother, Chase, who played college baseball at UNC Pembroke and Wake Tech Community College. He is currently studying Sports Management at LSU.
He played baseball for four years in high school and earned his first two letters at Richmond Foster High School in Texas before transferring to John Curtis Christian School in Louisiana. There he was instrumental in helping the school’s baseball team win two consecutive Division I state championships in Louisiana.
In the summer of 2018, he played for the Lima (Ohio) Locos of the Great Lakes Collegiate League, where he was named the No. 4 contender in the league of baseball with .320, 12 doubles, 4 home runs, 30 RBI and 32 runs scored America and was selected to the GLCL All-Star Team.

He started 44 games at first base and 14 as a designated hitter out of 62 games played (58 starts) and hit .279 (61-for-219) with three doubles, ten homers, 52 RBI, and 30 runs in points. Cade hit a .375 (3-for-8) with a home run and three RBI with runners in the scoring position and was selected to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional All-Tournament team.
On May 5, he hit two solo homers against Ole Miss in his second multi-homer game of the year. From April 18-20, he had five hits, including two doubles, a home run,n and five RBI against Florida.
In a seven-inning game against California on March 9, his two-run home run at the bottom of the sixth inning gave him a game-winning 5-4 lead. At the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a three-run homer and gave LSU a 6-5 win over Army.
That season, he made 17 starts at LSU first base and hit .312 (20-for-64) with four doubles, a triple, a home run, and 12 RBI. In three games against Eastern Kentucky and Louisiana Tech, he hit .618 with a double and eight runs batted.
In LSU’s win over Kentucky, he drove four runs with two two-run singles and added a sacrifice fly and an RBI single the following day.
He injured his knee while warming up for LSU’s season opener against Maine on February 18, 2022, and spent the rest of the year recovering. Beloso got two crucial chances this season, on April 5 in Grambling and on April 26 in New Orleans.

- He was named All-Metro Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018 by the New Orleans Advocate and the Times-Picayune.
