Cori Close is an American-based women’s basketball head coach serving her tenure with the UCLA Bruins. In 2011, she was handed the responsibility as the Bruins’ head coach, prior to which she was an assistant coach at Florida State University. Cori previously played and studied at UC Santa Barbara and was the star player for the UCSB Gauchos, where he served as team captain during the 1992 and 1993 seasons. She guided her team to compete in the NCAA tournaments all these years.

She led her team to NCAA tournaments and earned an All-Big West first-team selection and the 1993 conference tournament MVP. She was the first player in the school’s history to earn the rank of top in seven statistical gaucho categories reached 10. Cori had a career-high 8.3 assists per game in 1993, setting the school record and being ranked in the top 10 in the nation that season. On April 30, 2005, she was inducted into the UC Santa Barbara Athletics Hall of Fame.
