Early life

Jordy Bahl was born on July 24, 2002, to supportive parents Dave and Emily Bahl. Her father, Dave, played football at Doane College in Nebraska. He also played varsity basketball for a season. However, there is no information about her mother. Emily prefers to keep her innuendos to herself. Bahl attended Papillion-La Vista Senior High School in Papillion, Nebraska.

She led the Monarchs to three consecutive Class A state championships and was named an All-State Champion in each of their four years. During her junior year in 2020, she went 27-0 with a .15 ERA, allowing just 27 hits and 24 walks in 139 pitched innings while hitting 299 hitters. Additionally, she equaled the Class A record with 22 homers in a single season, hitting .581 with 59 RBI. After an amazing season, she was named Nebraska Softball Player of the Year.

2021

In her senior year in 2021, she went 27-0 with a .10 ERA and allowed just 27 hits and 15 walks in 137 pitched innings while knocking out 316 hitters. She also had 20 homers and 55 RBI while hitting .510. Jordy was named Nebraska Softball Player of the Year and Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year for the second year in a row after an exceptional season.

She finished her Papillion career with a 95-3 record, a .63 ERA, and 978 strikeouts in 523 innings. She also had 63 completed games and one perfect game. Bahl was named the country’s top recruit for the 2021 class by Softball America and Extra Inning Softball.

2022

Bahl made her collegiate debut for Oklahoma on February 10, 2022, against UC Santa Barbara. She pitched in the second and third innings, knocking out four of the eight batters she faced. Sophomore Nicole May and graduate student Hope Trautwein worked together to create the perfect game for the Sooners. On February 25, she threw a perfect game against Cal State Fullerton.

Over the course of the 18 hitters she faced, she hit 11 while conceding no hits or walks. She was the first pitcher in Oklahoma to complete a perfect game since Paige Parker in 2015. She gave up 18 earned runs and kept her opponents at a .137 batting average and seven shutouts.

On May 6, 2022, she injured herself while warming up before Saturday’s regular-season finale game against Oklahoma State. She did not participate in the 2022 Big 12 Conference softball tournament because of arm pain. On June 2, during the opening game of the 2022 Women’s College World Series against Northwestern, she completed her first start after recovering from an injury.

She threw 11 pitches, giving up only one while allowing two singles. Jordy won the June 9 Women’s College World Series game by allowing four hits, two runs, three walks, and two strikeouts in four innings.

She was voted Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Co-Big 12 Pitcher of the Year, and unanimously an All-Big 12 first-team pick after an impressive campaign. As a sophomore in 2023, she had a 7-0 ERA with a 0.70 ERA in 18 league games. Her opponents’ batting average was the lowest of any pitcher in the league at .130 in Big 12 games, and she had the most conference wins of any pitcher at seven.
