Myjai Sanders is an American professional football outside linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL. He was involved in college football in Cincinnati and was selected by the Cardinals in the third round of the NFL Draft in 2022.
Early life
Myjai Sanders was born on July 12, 1998. He was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where he attended William M. Raines High School and later transferred to Camden County High School in Kingsland, Georgia from his early years.
Myjai earned the honor of being named to the Coastal Georgia All-Area team by The Brunswick News after averaging a record 39 tackles, three sacks and seven quarterback hurries. He indicated his interest in playing for Cincinnati over other proposals from Washington State, UCF, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

During his senior season, after appearing at Camden County HS under the tutelage of coach Bob Sphire, he earned the composite three-star recruit. He was ranked in the top 75 defensive ends by ESPN.com for the 2018 season. He later earned a berth on the All-Region 1-7A First Team at DL and was named to the Brunswick News Coastal Georgia All-Area Football Team at OLB.
Sander had 39 tackles, 3 sacks and 7 quarterback rushes and had a touchdown return against Tift during the 2021 season. He played at Raines HS in Jacksonville, Florida for two years under the stewardship of coach Deran Wiley and received the honor of an All-Gateway Conference selection in 2016.
Sanders had a record 40 tackles, 5 TFL and 3 sacks in just 9 games during his junior years. He chose to play for UC rather than having signed to another college team. Myjai has been offered 20 reported offers or proposals from various collegiate teams including UCF, USF and Kentucky.
He was one of the few true freshmen to play for the Bearcats in 2018. Sanders has received various titles, awards, and honors, including First-Team All-AAC honors for the second straight season, PFF’s All-AAC First Team, and Reese’s Senior Bowl invite. He struggled through the doubles team, producing 34 tackles losing 6.5 and 2.5 sacks with 5 separations.
