Octavio Pisano is an American personality originally born in Mexico who later became a well known actor and producer in America, USA known for Coyote, Ms. Purple, and Smartass. He is best known for the role of detective Joe Velasco in the TV series Law & Order – Special Victims Unit.
Early life
Octavio Pizano was born on May 25, 1986 to to an American mother and father. He was born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico, where he spent his childhood until he was 17 years old. The conditions of war and violence in Mexico caused many families to flee the country. For the same reason, Pizano was sent to Vancouver, Canada, so he could complete his studies and learn the basics of the English language. It was there in Vancouver, Canada, that Octavio attended his first drama school and developed his love for the acting.
He enrolled at the University of San Francisco, initially intending to pursue a career in business. But when he got involved in acting and appeared on an impromptu spoken word show, he nurtured a love of art. Then he made the decision that was the turning point of his life and he moved to Los Angeles. He pursued an acting career and has since worked in numerous commercials, independent projects, films and shows.

He began his career in 2001, when, at the age of 15, he made his debut in the theater, participating in a musical. From 2003 to 2005, thanks to his beautiful body, he embarks on a modeling career: posing for various calendars and sexy magazines. The following year he played Michael in The Hate, a short film directed by Robert Eagles.
He made his film debut in 2017, taking part in the film Badsville, as an extra and, two years later, in 2019 he took part in the film Mrs. Purple. In the same year he made his debut on the small screen. True fame comes, however, in 2021 when he participates in the TV series Law & Order – Special Victims Unit, where he plays detective Joe Velasco, who arrives as a replacement for Katriona Tamin (played by Jamie Gray Hyder).
