Taj Bradley was born on March 20, 2001 in Los Angeles, California but grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia where he attended Redan High School. During his early school and college baseball career, he played primarily as a fielder and catcher. First he had his obligation to play baseball at Hillsborough Community College. He then played for or transferred to the University of South Carolina in his senior year. He was raised by his mother, Ana Mosley, who constantly praised and motivated him to give his best in life.

The Tampa Bay Rays selected Bradley in the fifth round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft. He began his professional career with the Gulf Coast League Rays, a rookie-level team, where he played 23 innings and had a 5.09 ERA. In the 2019 season, he joined the Princeton Rays, a rookie-level team in the Appalachian League, and participated in 11 starts and 12 overall appearances. He achieved a 2-5 and a 3.18 ERA during that time.
At the start of the 2021 season, Taj Bradley began playing with the Low-A East Charleston RiverDogs, where he recorded an impressive 9-3 in 14 starts with a 1.76 ERA. As a result, he was promoted to the High-A East Bowling Green Hot Rods after successes at Charleston RiverDogs. While playing with the Bowling Green Hot Rods, he competed in eight games and put in an exceptional performance with a 3-0, 1.96 ERA and 42 strikeouts over 36+1⁄3 innings.
At the start of the 2022 season, Bradley was assigned to the Double-A Montgomery Biscuits and was given a chance to compete in the 2022 All-Star Futures Game, where he was selected. After the MLB All-Star break, Bradley was promoted to the Triple-A Durham Bulls. At the start of the 2023 season, Bradley was sent to Triple-A Durham as an option. However, the Rays later decided to take him to the major leagues and he made his debut the following day of his promotion.
