Alexandra Grant is an American visual artist, educator, and actress. In 2007 she had her first solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Her work is classified as a Radical Collaboration, which is collaborative and includes texts and works by other writers and artists. Early life
Alexandra Grant was born on April 4, 1973 in Fairview Park, Ohio, USA. Her father, Norman Grant, was Scottish, while her mother, Marcia, has African and Middle Eastern roots. While her parents were in Africa, they parted ways and she lived with her mother in Mexico City.
Alexandra attended a British school in Mexico and at the age of 11 the Thomas Jefferson School, a boarding school in St. Louis, Missouri. She later moved to Paris with her mother and joined the International School of Paris. In 1990 she attended Philips Exeter Academy for her high school education in New Hampshire.
Later in 1995 she went to Swarthmore College and received a BA in history and studio art. After five years, she entered the San Francisco California College of Arts and earned an MFA in drawing and painting.

Alexandra was very fascinated by different art forms and showed interest in almost all forms. She created a lot of art and was exhibited in various museums. In addition, she examines language and texts through painting, sculpture and video, trying to understand the work of other artists. From 2009 to 2011 she was featured as a professor at Art Center College of Design and Cal State Northridge.
In 2015, she starred as the director of a documentary entitled Taking Lena Home. She has also written many books.
