Alyssa Brito is an infielder softball player who plays collegiate softball for the Oklahoma Sooners. After a brilliant career and track record in her previous colleges, she entered the transfer portal in 2021 and ended up in her dream team. She is ranked #32 on the Flo Softball Top 100 for high school players and #17 on the Extra Inning Top 100. Early life
Alyssa is from Tustin, California. She was born on September 15, 2002, and grew up with two siblings. Her father is Brandon Brito while her mother’s identity is unknown. Alyssa batted .519 and hit six homers in nine games in her senior year, which was disrupted by the coronavirus epidemic, earning her a spot on CalHi Sports’ All-State first-team honors list. She provides speed and variety for the Ducks and was named the Empire League’s Defensive Player of the Year and All-League First Team as a junior after helping Pacifica win the league.
The Orange County Register also named her to the second All-County team. She was a three-time All-State selection for California .510 with 12 homers, 45 RBIs, and two homers in an inning of a game in April as a junior. As a sophomore in 2018, she was named to the first-team All-Empire League.
Alyssa Brito Career
She started 53 games at shortstop and hit .299 with 10 home runs, 31 RBIs, five doubles, a triple, 30 runs scored and 15 walks as a freshman in Oregon. She made just four penalties on 136 opportunities and went 81 clean-shooting chances to start her collegiate career.
After playing 4-of-7 with three RBIs, three runs scored, three runs scored, and two homers in the two wins, she was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. She was named D1Softball National Freshman of the Week and Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after a 6-on-9 performance with two home runs, nine RBIs and six runs scored in three games.
Rise to Fame
As a sophomore in Oklahoma, she played 61 games, starting the last 27 of them and hitting a .368 with 14 home runs, 7 doubles, and 46 RBIs. She started 50 of those games and completed 61 missions. In the second game of the WCWS Championship Series against Texas, she put on a 2-on-4 display with two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI.
She hit a solo home run against Texas A&M at the Norman Regional and went 2-3 overall with a double and an RBI in the first game of the Champ Series. In the series against Texas (4/14-16), she hit a total of three home runs, two of which were crucial to Oklahoma’s win in the second game. She also went 3 on 3 throughout the game.
In a top-10 game against No. 8 Kentucky on March 22, she went 2-on-3 with two RBIs and two runs made. She hit a season-high four runs against Sam Houston at the Hall of Fame Classic in Oklahoma City and tripled and ran three more runs against Long Beach at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. She hit her first home run as a sooner against McNeese at the Houston Classic and had her first start as a sooner against Loyola Marymount at the Mark Campbell Invitational in Irvine.
