Brianne Barker is an American researcher, virus expert and a new contestant on the set of Jeopardy. She took part in the television show on July 27, 2022. Brianne admitted on stage that she has been following the show for many years.

Brianne began her professional life doing research at Duke University while she was an undergraduate. From 1998 to 2002 she was an undergraduate student. She then began her teaching fellowship at Harvard University. There at the university she served as a tutor for one year, as a teaching assistant for two years, and as a Ph.D. Immunology candidate as she does her dissertation research in the lab of Dr. Norman Letvin submitted. During this time, she was also given the responsibility of supervising an undergraduate student for guidance on their thesis. She also served as a postdoctoral fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and later as a contract editor for American Journal Experts.
After serving another year as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and holding the position of Assistant Professor during her time with the Assistant Professors, she was officially hired as an Assistant Professor (August 2013 to August 2019) at Drew University. During her teaching career, she gradually found success, taking on the responsibilities of Associate Professor, Director of the Drew Summer Science Institute (since February 2020) and finally Director of Undergraduate Research (since July 2021).
Since 2013 dr. Brianne Barker is an Associate Professor of Biology at Drew University. She teaches courses in immunology, scientific writing, virology and other emerging infectious diseases. Brianne also conducts her laboratory research in understanding the innate immune response to viral infections. First, Barker had the comfortable lead after completing the first lap of Jeopardy. Coulson hit back and won a total of $17,600 by taking the lead in the Double Jeopardy round. During that time, Barker won $14,700, while Birney bagged $8,200. In the end, Coulson’s big bet backfired and he took second place, while Barker took the top spot and became the new Jeopardy Champion.
