Early life
Jacob Panetta was born on January 26, 1996 in Belleville, a city in Ontario, Canada. He was born to his father – Vincy Panetta and his mother – Lisa Trumpour Panetta. Jacob has two younger brothers, Daniel Panetta and Matthew Panetta, who have followed in his footsteps and become professional hockey players. He has never shared anything about his past life with the media, he likes to keep his private life out of people’s eyes. Jacob completed his schooling at a local high school, but there is no mention of his school on the internet. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.
Jacob Panetta’s career
Jacob started playing hockey in 2010 when he was just 14 years old. Since then he has played with many teams like Wellington Dukes, Colgate University etc. However, before becoming a hockey player, he also worked as a laborer in fairway property maintenance and as a gas dock assistant at Crate Marine. Jacob completed his summer internship at PRM Inc in May 2020.
He made his debut as a hockey player in 2010 when he played for the team Quinte Red Devils UA15 AAA and a year later for Quinte Red Devils UA16 AAA. In 2012 he played for the ‘Picton Pirates’ and after a year he switched to the ‘Wellington Dukes’, where he served for three seasons. He started playing for his team at Colgate University in 2016 and played with them until he passed out. Jacob was signed by the Jacksonville Icemen in 2020 and still plays with them.
Controversy
Jacob got into controversy when he was accused of relaying some racist gestures to his opponent PK Subban. According to Subban, Jackob made monkey faces at him in a match during overtime and even posted a proof video on Twitter of Jacob teasing Subban. Jackob later apologized to Subban and told him that his action was never meant to be a racist gesture, but Subban said he didn’t want anyone to pity him. The whole mess led to the suspension of Jacksonville Icemen’s Jacob Panetta.
