Early life

The 28-year-old young adult is the son of proud parents named Larry and Esther Sy. He is only four months away from his PhD. in English literature. He is currently studying at the University of Virginia. Lloyd Sy previously studied English and Computer Science at Brown University after graduating from Auburn in 2012. He graduated from the Martin Luther King School.

Lloyd gave his auditions for the Jeopardy show in July 2022. He had to pass many online tests, zoom tests, mock test matches and other tests to defeat all other contestants. He then made a major cut in late October 2022 and was finally called in mid-November to direct the episode. While still studying in high school, he tried his hand at teenage Jeopardy but couldn’t find success.

Years later, while he was a student at Ph.D. After going through several rounds of trivia and preliminary question tests, he was invited to appear in Los Angeles and shoot an episode. On Tuesday (January 3, 2023) Lloyd defeated the other two contestants to walk away with a prize of $24,490 and more chances to win more money in upcoming rounds or games.
