Roman Zaragoza was born in New York City into a multicultural family. He is Akimel O’otham, of Mexican, Japanese, and Taiwanese descent. His father is Gregory Zaragoza, an acclaimed actor who starred in the 1999 Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun. His mother is Shirley Zaragoza, a college economics professor.
