Prior to joining the NFL in the recognized positions, Poles served as a recruiting assistant at his alma mater, Boston College. While in college, he played offensive tackle for the first five seasons from 2003–2007. The Poles first signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears in 2008, but later did not make a final lineup with the Bears. Ryan Poles will join the Bears after spending the last 13 seasons in Kansas City, where he started in 2009 as an assistant player staff.
