Early life
Scottie Scheffler was born on June 21, 1996 and has lived in his mid-20s as of 2022. He was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey but moved to Dallas with his family at a young age. He remained committed to Highland Park High School and later played for the University of Texas from 2014 to 2018. His presence and dedication to the team resulted in the team winning three Big 12 championships.
He received the honor of being named Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year in 2015. Before he could stand at UT, he won the US Junior Amateur title in 2013. He also became part of the US team that went on to win the 2017 Walker Cup. Scottie qualified for his first US Open in 2016. He later qualified for the US Open in 2017 after surviving a 4-on-3 playoff to earn a place in the field. He finished the low amateur with 1-under par.

Scheffler is married to his girlfriend of six years, Meredith Scudder, in 2020. Both partners grew up in Texas, where Scheffler attended Highland Park High School and met the love of his life, Meredith Scudder. The couple set many goals together and attended universities for future career goals. However, both went to different universities. Scheffler went to the University of Texas and Scudder to the rival University of Texas A&M.
Although Scheffler was at competing universities, he visited his girlfriend on the TAMU campus. The couple graduated in 2018 and Scudder did a short internship in Zambia. Rather than maintain a long-distance relationship, the couple stood up for each other, and later in June 2020, Scheffler proposed to Scudder while he was hiking in the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. The couple posted a picture of themselves on Instagram and Scudder expressed her love by saying she can’t believe she could find a life partner in the form of her longtime boyfriend.

Scottie Scheffler first earned the 2019 Web.com Tour Card through qualifying school. He has won the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship title in Columbus, Ohio and also earned the PGA Tour Card for the 2020 season by winning both the Finals and the maximum points on the list. Later that year he was awarded the Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year title. He finished fourth in the 2020 PGA Tour Championship in August 2020.
