She is the daughter of Gussie Busch, former owner of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and the St. Louis Cardinals. Early life

Trudy Busch Valentine was born on June 1, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri but later, in 1971, moved to Colorado Springs. She was raised on Grant’s farm in the family of August “Gussie” Busch, founder of the Anheuser-Busch brewery (her father), and Gertrude Buholzee Busch (her mother) with their six siblings. Trudy’s parents divorced in 1978 and her father remarried for the fourth time. In 1989, Gussie left the world and her mother died in 2016. Although information about her elementary education cannot be accessed, Trudy reportedly went to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1975. In 1980, she earned a degree in nursing from Saint Louis University and later a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from the Aquinas Institute of Theology.

After graduating in nursing, Trudy worked as a caretaker for homeless children at the Salvation Army Children’s Home. In 1990 she became a member of the St. Louis University Women’s Council and the Executive Advisory Board of the School of Nursing. Trudy is part of the Democratic Party. She began her career in 1991 as a member of the Colorado Springs City Council. From 1997 to 2003 she was Mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She helped expand businesses in the city and also worked on infrastructure development. In 2003, after the end of her tenure, she opened a consulting firm. She has also served on the boards of many companies.

She ran for the Republican nomination for the US Senate seat in 2012 but unfortunately lost the election. Now she is being elected to the US Senate after running for the Democratic Party. Trudy announced that she will run for the US Senate in late March 2022. She was relatively late in the race. She went on to raise around $3 million from campaign contributors.
