Ally Shipman is a successful and well-known softball player who started playing softball professionally in 2019. She has been the driving force behind the success of the Alabama Crimson Tide Softball throughout her career.
Ally made her collegiate debut on February 8 against UIC, hitting a home run and accumulating three RBIs. She also had two runs, a home run, and an RBI against New Mexico. In 2019, she was named to the SEC’s First-Year Academic Honors Roll. In the win over South Carolina and the win over Kentucky, Ally went 2-3 and had three RBIs.
Early life
Ally Shipman, the daughter of Bill and Lorri Shipman, was born on October 25, 1999. She has one brother, Billy, and two sisters, Amanda and Madison. From 2011 to 2014, Madison, her sister, played softball for Tennessee. She majored in Human Environmental Sciences.
Ally attended Valencia High School in Valencia, California. She graduated from high school with a 4.2 grade point average. Ally Shipman was named a member of the 2018 Extra Innings Softball Elite 100 and a 2018 PGF Regional All-American. She also won the 2017 Female Foothill League Player of the Year award. With seven homers, five triples, 34 walks, 25 RBI, and a .528 on-base percentage as a senior, she hit .356.
Ally Shipman career
Ally hit .328 in her freshman year and finished the season with 6 runs, 21 hits, and 20 RBIs in just 22 games before being sidelined for the remainder of the season through injury. She hit a home run and three RBIs in her collegiate debut against UIC on Feb. 8. However, she had to miss the rest of the season due to injury after starting 22 games at the Lady Vols catcher position.
In Tennessee, over her three years in Tennessee, she started 98 games, primarily as a catcher. Her 13 multi-hit games, nine multi-RBI games, and 39 RBIs in 2021 ranked second and third on the team, respectively. In the quarter-finals win of the SEC tournament 2021 against Arkansas (May 13), the home run started.
Starting 2022 in 54 games, she recorded a combined 4-on-5 (.800) with six RBIs, two doubles, and a home run against Southern Utah (Feb. 11) and Oregon State (Feb. 12), making her multi-hit -brought performances in her first two starts for Alabama. At the Easton Bama Bash, she led the team with six hits and nine RBIs, including a game-winning two-run home run over eighth-place Virginia Tech (February 19).
