She competed in high school and even broke the record holder for the 60m, 200m (indoor and outdoor) and 100m in Ohio. Steiner was 16 times state champion during her high school years. During the 2018-2019 indoor competition, Abby’s Team All-America finished first in the 2019 indoor 4*4 and second in the All-Freshman Team in the 2019 indoor 200m.
In 2019-2020 she was number 1 in the 200m and set the UK school record with 22.57s. And she also got silver at SEC Indoors in 4*400m. Abby then ran a personal best of 11.10 in the 100m at the Florida Relays, becoming the fourth fastest in UKTF history in the 2021-2020 season. While Abby has defended her 200-meter national title with a 22.16 dash, an NCAA indoor championship matches the record and a Birmingham faculty record.
