Early Life
Arianna Roberson was born on 2nd January 2006, in San Antonio, Texas. Basketball was a part of her childhood and family culture; she was from a very athletic family. Her father, John Roberson, and her mother, Lisa Roberson, were outstanding college and All-American athletes at New Mexico State University. This had a profound influence on the children’s lives in a competitive and supportive environment.
Roberson has seven brothers and sisters, some of whom played high-level athletics. The younger sister, Jeanine, was married to David Hoof, an Oklahoma City Thunder front office member; his brother André was a little older but made a name for the family as an NBA defensive specialist, primarily with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Ashlee, Amber, Arielle, Anthony, and Aaliiah were professional or college basketball players, too. Having grown up around top athletes, Arianna’s mindset about athletics is that she has spoken about her being tough and competitive because of her older siblings’ presence at all times, as she watched and played. One of her trademarks was something about her approach to play—how she played. This was an early period in her life, and she was in a very competitive family.
Arianna Roberson Career
Arianna Roberson’s basketball career at Clark High School began to really take off. Under her leadership, the program has seen great success, including Clark High School’s first-ever UIL Class 6A State Championship title in 2023. She led the way in this tournament and went on to become one of the top high school players in the state and an MVP.
Arianna Roberson also contributed to the offense as a senior, averaging 18 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks per game. She was probably going to be most useful for us in length/athleticism and some of the best defense she could provide, and she did have a very good bounce-back ability, which made her stand out from many of the other top recruits in her class.
Thanks to her actions, she was selected to a number of prestigious events, including the McDonald’s All-American game, Nike Hoop Summit, and more. She was invariably among the top prospects on recruiting lists, two of which were in the top 100 on ESPNW’s list.
Instead, Arianna Roberson chose Duke University over UConn and Oregon and signed with the Blue Devils. Her choice was thought to be a major recruiting boon to Duke women’s basketball, and the program was in need of the best young players they could find to grow into ACC and NCAA Tournament players.
Unfortunately, her journey to college basketball came to a halt in 2024-2025 when her knee got hurt. But Duke’s staff believed she had a lot more to offer in the game, particularly defensively and physically.
Arianna Roberson also came back in 2025-2026 and was a key component of Duke’s rotation at the front of the line. She has around 8 points in 33 games and has provided around 5.7 boards and will remain a paint/inner threat. She scored the biggest game of her career against SMU, hitting 22 points and having a career high of 16 rebounds on Feb. 8, 2026.
Roberson is a college success as well as a Team USA representative at international competitions. She continued to prove herself as one of the best young American frontcourt players, earning gold at both the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup and 2024 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup.
