Elina Svitolina is a Ukrainian tennis player who achieved the highest place in her career. She has won 17 WTA Tour singles titles and finished as runners-up three times. Early life
Elina Svitolina was born on September 12, 1994, in Odesa, Ukraine, to competitive rower Olena Svitolina and former wrestler Mikhaylo Svitolin. She has an older brother named Yulian, who is also a comedian, and she was named after Soviet star Elina Bystritska. Svitolina started playing tennis at the age of five after being inspired by her brother. When she was 13, she moved to Kharkiv to attend the Olympic Reserve School.

Elina turned pro in 2010 and made the top 50 in the world in July 2013. She reached the top 20 in June 2015 and the top 10 in May 2017, making her the first Ukrainian to do so.
